Is AICA Orthopedics Safe? What Patients and Attorneys Are Saying
When it comes to post-accident medical care, trust and transparency matter. AICA Orthopedics is a popular clinic chain across Georgia, known for treating accident victims with a mix of chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological services. But beneath the surface, serious concerns are emerging.
Legal Experts Are Speaking Out
Simon Injury Law recently published a blog warning potential patients about AICA’s billing practices. According to their attorneys, many patients are referred to AICA under the impression that their treatment will be covered through their accident claim. What they aren't aware of are inflated charges and surprise billing. Their firm encourages injury victims to fully understand the financial commitment before stepping into any AICA clinic. If an attorney has made a blog post about their predatory behaviors you might want to reconsider your decision to treat there.
My Personal Experience
This is where it becomes personal. In early 2025, I was sexually assaulted by Dr. Alexander Steele during an appointment at AICA Orthopedics. I filed a report. I contacted law enforcement. I went public. What I didn’t expect was to still be billed for that same appointment. Despite everything, AICA still has a medical lien to charge me for the very session where the assault took place.
This isn't just unethical — it’s retraumatizing. And it shows how broken the system is when a survivor has to pay off medical debt tied to their own trauma. They refuse to take accountability and it's honestly a slap in the face.
What You Should Know
I'm sure not every AICA patient has a negative experience. Some report smooth care and friendly staff. But many others, including legal professionals and former employees, are raising red flags. Before seeking care, ask questions. Get copies of your treatment plan. Read reviews. Talk to your lawyer. And above all, protect yourself. AICA sells itself as a place of healing. But for some of us, walking through their doors caused more damage than the accident ever did.
